"Who in their right mind would start a record label these days?" According to Santa Barbara Records (SBR) Label Manager Billy O’Connell, SBR is a purpose-driven and values-based business, first and foremost. We celebrate everything we love about Santa Barbara and the tremendous power of music to affect mind, body and soul. But more than just releasing great music, we intend to generate meaningful, cultural and economic impact in our community.

The SBR brand identity was designed to reflect Southern California’s Americana music heritage while maintaining a classic contemporary feel. The typeface straddles current trends and vintage California. The mark was designed to be used as an unobtrusive identity on catalog releases and features an abstract glyph that subtly evokes spinning vinyl.
